Love's Journey Doula Services - Providing Services for Expectant Mothers

As mothers and Doulas, we believe that every woman deserves to be inspired by her birthing experience; to feel excitement about the possibilities of the new life she is bringing forth.  Every birth is a unique journey and there will never be another quite like it.  We are here to encourage mothers in their desires for labor and childbirth and to serve them along the way.
 
Love’s Journey Doulas is the team of Mary Whelan and Julie Carew-
By partnering together, we provide each other with continuous backup support throughout the labor and birth process.
We also support each other through each client’s prenatal experience, attending one of the two prenatal visits together, giving our clients the chance to meet the other doula in case of a need for backup during labor and birth.

Our Services:
In addition to Birth Doula Services, we offer private or small-group Childbirth Classes, and Lactation Counseling.
Birth Doula Services:
 
  • One initial visit. (free of charge)
      A chance for you and your partner to meet 
     the doula of your choice and see if you
      might make a good team for your labor
 
  •  Two prenatal visits.
      During these meetings, your doula will:
    • Work to better understand your priorities, your best coping techniques in regards to pain and fatigue, and your preferences regarding natural pain management options
    • Assist in preparation for a birth plan if desired
    • Review coping techniques and comfort measures
    • Discuss any concerns that you or your partner may have
 
  • 24 hour/ 7 days a week telephone support
 
  • Emotional and physical support throughout the duration of your labor, delivery and 2 hours postpartum.
 
  • Full lactation support during the first few weeks following the birth - including at home visits.
 
  • One postpartum visit.
 
 
 
Things we are sure of:
 
- Every woman should be able to decide, for herself, what she wants for her labor and delivery
 
- Water and massage therapy ALWAYS work.
 
- And just when you think you can't...you can.
